What defines success?

Success: the accomplishment of an aim or purpose. So, your goal was to be a company CEO or a senior at your job; you've accomplished it, which is your success.
Success is mainly in connection with the amount of money you are making and your status in society. But is that the success the Lord talks about? The Bible says that Joseph was successful in all he did; why? What was he doing? What is the actual definition of success?
Most of us, at any point in our lives, want to be successful in something. We all have something we want to be successful in. But what is real success, and what does it require? Is it having your own company, side hustle, or working at your job?
Two ways
There are two ways that people consider themselves successful. One is when they make money. Money is a significant barometer of how people define success.
The other success is doing what the Lord wants, no matter the outcome.
I always wondered what real success is. Is it a success that I'm putting energy into my blog, and people still need to read it? I'm sharing it on Twitter and Instagram, but nobody is still seeing it. It makes me feel like a failure that all my effort isn't paying off, especially in terms of making money from what I'm not. But that's the first reason why
I decided to make a blog. I started writing my blog because the Lord wanted me to share pieces of my life with others in a practical way. The idea wasn't to make money, nor did I expect that no one would read it after three years.
The number of years may feel like I'm doing everything in vain. But who told me that three years is the number of years that I will reap all the fruits, or over ten years? How am I supposed to deal with it? Do I need to focus on when it happens or enjoy the process? Writing this blog is good for me. Going back to older posts always touches my heart, as I realize what I'm reading is happening at this moment. It is also a reminder that life is a process, and I might also be dealing with this same problem in the coming two years.
My questions
Why do most of us want to make money?
Because we want to be independent, don't want to work a 9-5 job, because we want to buy everything we want, because we have plans, or don't want to work to drop dead at the end.
We live in a society where the cost of living continues to rise every day. Prices are going up for everything, but not our income. With all the things that need to be paid for, we need more time to do what we want at the speed we wish.
My goal is not to be a millionaire, but I don't want to conform to the 9-5 mentality that keeps you working until you reach 68. Why work so hard to live paycheck to paycheck? What can I enjoy when I'm old and have no energy?
In the Bible, God's people weren't poor. They were kings, well-to-do people, and ordinary citizens like you and me, who lived through hard work. I am convinced the Lord doesn't want his children to be poor. He wants us to be successful. The only thing is understanding what He defines as successful. Does he describe it as being rich or doing what he wants us to do?
Our focus must be to do God's will, and He will take care of us. If we do what he wants us to do, He will also give us everything. If it's His will to make me rich, that will happen. If not, I must keep doing what he wants for his Glory.
26 What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul? Matthew 16:26
With this, you can have all the money and materials of this world and still lose your soul. Or you can gain your soul by doing what the Lord wants and be content with His provisions for your life.
Be blessed, and stay blessed!
