New Year Gift Project (Finish)

Updated: Sep 13

It took me a month to give the New Year Project cards away. A month, yes; why? Because I didn't dare to do so. Every day, I've made up my mind to do it, and in the end, I always found a way not to do it.

The New Year Project

The New Year project was to give away self-made mini cards as a gift. I've got different types of ideas on how to give them away (part 1), but in the end, I did something else.

What I did

Out of cowardice, I've thrown them in everyone's mailbox. From what I can deduce from part 1, the idea was to make 36 mini-cards. I ended up making 56 mini-cards for the New Year project; I am trying to remember why.

Building One: Five mini cards (one is my client)

Building Two: Five mini cards (one is my client)

Building Three: One, my client

Building Four: Eleven mini cards (one is my client)

Building Five: Eighteen & Sixteen (own house complex)

* I didn't directly hand it to anyone, but in the post.

My struggle

The struggle was real, but it was a season of learning. I wanted to do the original plan, but it was too hard. Maybe I should have tried harder. It was an everyday battle, to do it or not. Thoughts, as they will throw it away, they will see you; they will call the police flood my mind. Every day, it was a battle in prayer. After prayer, I felt ready to do it, but it turned into another day passing by without doing it.

The first four buildings were in the first two weeks of January.

In my building, the last sixteen mini cards were on January 31. For the previous sixteen mini cards, I even thought of not giving them away, but thanks to the Lord, I took the courage to do it anyway. It was the most wonderful feeling. Still, I know that half obedience is still disobedience.

My lessons

The Lord hasn't given us the spirit of fear. He tells us to be courageous and strong. He will ask you to do things outside your comfort zone, but Satan will come in any way with discouragements. It is up to us to learn how to silence Him with God's words and promises.
